a 50 pax tour group came in for dinner [did i mention tt aldente/hot stones has tour groups every day? ] GOSH. there were only 5 of us! let me break down what we had to do!
take drinks order. do n serve drinks. serve and clear bread n soup. serve and clear satay. serve and clear hot stones. set saucer and fork. serve desserts. pour coffee/tea. collect money for drinks.
sounds easy right? but the sad thing is guys can only carry 4 hot stones max at a time. and girls who are serving only have the strength to carry 1!
50 guests. 3 girls service. 2 guys service. woo! i almost died there.
i didnt know i had to write 3 copies of the drinks order!! they threw away the first [and my ONLY]copy after we served the drinks and thats it. DIE. we are supp to collect money! so i actually made my other 2 poor colleagues ask everyone what they drank all over again AND TO ADD ON i was the one who cleared empty glasses enthusiastically when they are done. as a result, they have nothing to check against. nobody knew if the guests were lying or not! [and eventually the money didnt tally so yes, some of them were dishonest.]
and i only knew about this after everything was over. great. i would have collected the money myself cos im quite sure i can rmb what they had! so bloody angry with myself.
