Haven update you guys on my latest job yet! in fact im doing data entry as i blog. LOL. need a little excitement in my life man sitting here at this desk.
PHONATHON!!
even though i have signed up for it say end of sem 1? i only got my training end of sem 2. but whole of sem 2 was roped into doing data entry which i then pull ck along hahaha.
data entry was possibly the most boring job ever, sitting on the desk and updating particulars about people whom you dont know and will never know.
but its different after i did phonathon. i talked to those people whose particulars i now update and i actually know a bit about these people! then as i pack their letters and gift forms to be sent out to them, i feel like im sending my old friends letters! hahaha. its pretty cool!
phonathon is really challenging or so ck says hahahaha! he was so terrified after being scolded the first session tt he was dreading the second one. but after we got used to the system, it was really an eye opener!
my first call was made to an old lady of 90 yrs old! was so freaking scared tt whoever is on the line will tell me she passed away and start to sob then what m i supp to do?! thankfully she is still alive!! and gosh she is a wonderful lady! ex scgs principal!
but aye when she told me she was ill and doesnt care if she receives nus magazines or not i told her to get well soon. DAMN. hahahahaha i was so scared she will scream and tell me to shut up cos she will nv get well. hahaha well i was really glad she didnt. she was a really nice lady! i really hope she will feel better soon (:
you get to talk to people of all ages, all walks of life, people who studied diff courses in nus previously! and u gotta use your conversational skills well to try and engage them and let them feel a connection so they won feel like u r scamming them LOL. then finally ask for their support in the student bursaries.
our alumni is really generous i must say! and i hope i will contd to like this job! (: nus students can join me and ck too if u want! (((((: $8/hour!!!
